The most recent Radiation Oncology Technic–Truebeam technology
Cancer has become one of the most significant public health problems in our country as in the world due to many various reasons. In addition to this, today, there are many fascinating developments both regarding diagnosis and treatment of cancer. While researches are going on, new technologies are also introduced for treatment. Radiation oncology is the field which these introductions are experienced most intensively and rapidly.
Turkey has experienced many developments regarding use of both IMRT applications and CyberKnife. In the recent decade, Turkish healthcare institutions have been equipped with new technologies and used them in Europe and especially nearby geography.
Today, the point that technology has reached about radiation oncology is Truebeam. Many techniques and applications being used in radiation oncology in very few centers today are only applicable thanks to Truebeam and Truebeam STX devices, which can easily reach any region of body by photon and electron energies at different levels. Especially, real-time tumor tracking is possible by synchronizing the given dose with taken images for radiotherapy of such movable organs as pancreas, lungs, prostate and breasts.
